URL Shortener API — Backend & Cloud Database

I engineered a RESTful URL Shortener service that provides real-time analytics and link tracking. The project leverages Supabase PostgreSQL for persistent cloud storage and ua-parser-js to dissect and categorize user-agent data like browser types.

Key Implementations

• Developed a scalable RESTful API to shorten long URLs and seamlessly redirect users to the original destinations using Express.js.
• Integrated Supabase PostgreSQL for secure, persistent storage of shortened URLs and click analytics data.
• Implemented real-time click tracking, recording detailed browser statistics and user-agent information utilizing ua-parser-js.
• Generated highly secure and collision-resistant 6-character short IDs for each link using the nanoid library.
